COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

🏋️‍♀️ 24-Hour Gym Proposed for Lea Wharf

A new 24-hour gym could be coming to Lea Wharf, with plans submitted to East Herts Council for approval. The proposal would see PureGym take over units overlooking the main square and river, bringing a mix of cardio, strength training, classes and personal training to the town centre.

The site’s central location means it’s easily accessible by foot and public transport - and the plans suggest minimal late-night usage, with no classes running overnight.

That said, the 24-hour aspect has raised some concerns from nearby residents, particularly around noise and disruption.

If approved, it would mark a big addition to Hertford’s fitness offering - and another step in the ongoing development of Lea Wharf.

🎾 Padel Courts Coming to Hertford

Padel continues to boom - and Hertford is next in line to get in on the action.

A new venue from Pulse Padel is set to open in Riverside Lower Hatfield Road this July, bringing three courts and an 18-hole themed adventure golf course to the area.

Open daily from 7am-11pm, the space will also include a social area serving drinks, plus a sports shop - making it more than just a quick game, but a proper hangout spot too.

ℹ️ More info + 4 other Hertfordshire Padel courts here.

💡 Good to know:

Tewinbury Farm will be closed from 15-22 April for a private event, with everything reopening as normal from 11am on the 22nd.

🌦 HERTFORD WEATHER: 14 - 20 Apr 2026

We’re kicking off with some decent spring energy - mild, bright and dry on Tues - before a brief dip midweek with a touch of rain on Weds. From Thurs onwards, it settles nicely into a run of mostly dry, partly cloudy days with temperatures hovering in the mid-to-high teens.

👉 Best days: Tuesday for sunshine, and Friday looks like the warmest pick of the week.

All in all - a pretty solid week to get out and about.

✨ MIND, HEALTH + FITNESS

Most of us don’t lack time… we just lack structure.

That constant feeling of being tired or overwhelmed? It’s often not about doing too much - it’s about having no clear rhythm to your day. Scrolling feels like rest, overworking feels like progress…but both can leave you running on empty.

A simple way to reset things:

• 8 hours → Work (focused & intentional)
• 8 hours → Sleep (non-negotiable)
• 8 hours → Life

And that last 8 hours of ? That’s where the good stuff lives - family, friends, movement, hobbies, proper downtime.

Get this balance even roughly right… and everything starts to feel a whole lot more in control.
