π Local Plans Everyone Will Be Talking About...
Silent disco at 9am, beer festival at 5pm, Father's Day Sunday. Hertford, we're spoilt.

This week is a big and beautiful one: Father's Day is this Sunday the 21st and the clock is ticking. But before you panic-buy a novelty mug, read on - we've got proper local ideas, a packed weekend and enough going on to make you look like you planned this all along (π€«).
Pride celebrations take centre stage this weekend, with a full day of events running from morning through to evening. Start with a silent disco at Nourish, head to Family Pride Day at the Castle, then round things off with live music and beers at Mac's Festival. Hertford certainly knows how to make a Saturday memorable. π
Ruby Wax is bringing the chaos to BEAM, and there's a brilliant guided history walk, a choral spectacular and, well, quite the lineup.

π‘ PROPERTY OF THE WEEK
A Detached Family Home With Its Own Garden Bar - Yes, Really
This well-presented three-bedroom detached home in a quiet Ware cul-de-sac has a lot going for it - a spacious living room, separate snug, modern kitchen/diner, a large home office for the WFH crowd, and an en-suite principal bedroom. All the practical boxes ticked. But the thing that makes this one stand out? There's a detached garden bar with power sitting in the private rear garden. Whether that becomes the Dad Cave, the summer entertaining spot, or both - we'll leave that to you.
Location-wise it's a strong card too. Ware town centre is walkable, Presdales School is five minutes away, and Ware station is within easy reach for the London Liverpool Street commute. Oh, and there's an EV charging point on the driveway, because this house has clearly thought of everything.
Whether or not you're buying, the photos are worth a look. π

π¦ HERTFORD WEATHER: 16 - 22 JUNE 2026
Good news if you've got weekend plans: the forecast delivers right when it counts.
Tue starts cloudy but brightens up by afternoon (25Β°C), Wednesday brings a light shower in the morning (24Β°C) so maybe save the outdoor plans for later in the day. Then it's a steady climb from there: Thurs + Fri both clear nicely into the afternoon with temps nudging 27-28Β°C.
The weekend is the star of the show. Sat hits 26Β°C - ideal for a day at the Castle and the beer festival. And Father's Day Sunday? A lovely 29Β°C, partly cloudy, virtually zero chance of rain. About as good as British June gets. βοΈ
Best days: Sat. 20th + Sun. 21st - both looking cracking. π

β¨ MIND, HEALTH + FITNESS
Father's Day is a good excuse to check in - not just on Dad, but on the dads, brothers, mates and men in your life who might be quietly carrying more than they're letting on. Men are still significantly less likely to seek help for their mental health than women. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is just ask twice. Once gets a "I'm fine." Twice sometimes gets the truth. π
π§ EXTRA SPRINKLES
Loop back to last weekβs issue for your last minute Fatherβs Day ideas.
Keep an eye out for the book and bottleβs Book Club coming soon. π
Anything for glowing skinβ¦ ππ
