π¦ 36Β°C, Pride & a punk drummer. Just a normal Hertford week.
We've done the planning so you don't have to.

Hello, Hertford! βοΈ
Hope you had a brilliant weekend soaking up the sun, celebrating the dads and making proper summer memories. Because the good news is, summer isn't done with us yet. We're talking 35Β°C today, 36Β°C tomorrow - the kind of heat where your ice lolly surrenders before you've even got the wrapper off.
But here's the thing: the town more than has you covered. This week Hertford is serving up Pride, ska bands, classical music for a brilliant cause, a heatwave-worthy fabric swap, folk, Beatles covers AND a literary festival that kicks off next weekend with The Clash's original drummer on the drums. Literally. We are not understating any of this.
Grab your sunscreen and your social calendar - let's go. πΆπ

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
BEAM Building Momentum After First Full Year
Hertford's BEAM theatre and cinema reported a larger-than-expected loss in its first full year, reflecting the challenges of launching a new venue in a difficult climate for the entertainment sector.
The good news is that growth is already underway. Advance ticket sales have reached Β£470,000, well ahead of this time last year, and larger productions such as Blood Brothers and Punch are now coming to BEAM. The venue is also performing slightly ahead of comparable theatres nationally.
East Herts Council says lessons from the first year have helped shape a new business plan aimed at achieving financial sustainability by 2028/29. With growing audiences, bigger shows and strong community support, BEAM's future looks increasingly promising.
KIDDIES SCOOP
Children's Summer Workshops Are Here! βοΈπ¨
Looking for ways to keep the kids busy this summer? Courtyard Arts has released its programme of creative summer workshops, packed with hands-on activities designed to inspire young artists and makers. Spaces are limited and tend to fill quickly, so it's worth booking early to avoid disappointment.

If you're dreaming of a little more space, this impressive detached home in Ware is worth a look. With four generous bedrooms, three stylish bathrooms, a dressing room and walk-in wardrobe, it's a home designed for comfortable family living. Downstairs, you'll find a beautifully finished kitchen, spacious reception rooms and plenty of flexibility for modern life, while outside there's a landscaped garden, detached double garage and secure gated entrance.
π¦ HERTFORD WEATHER: 23 - 29 JUNE 2026
Today kicks things off at a toasty 35Β°C and tomorrow is the peak at a scorching 36Β°C - yes, thirty-six degrees, in Hertford, in June. Remarkable scenes. Thurs and Fri stay sizzling at 35Β° and 33Β° respectively, before the weekend brings some welcome relief - Saturday drops to a much more manageable 28Β°C (still shorts weather, let's be clear), and Sunday and Monday cool things down further to the mid-twenties.
Basically, a Mediterranean holiday without the flight.

β¨ MIND, HEALTH + FITNESS
I love a mid-year check-in. It's a chance to pause, reflect on how far you've come, and make a few intentional tweaks for the months ahead. This list is the perfect prompt to reset, refocus and finish the year strong.
π§ EXTRA SPRINKLES
π‘ If you're experiencing headaches, fatigue, muscle cramps or dry skin, simply drinking more water may not be enough - your body could be missing the essential electrolytes needed for proper hydration. π
Youβre now fully up to date, Hertford.
