πͺ Hertford, Your Sunday Just Got Very Crowded
Rock at the Castle, Beer Festivals, Shakespeare, a school-ready workshop & the deals to match

Good Morning, Hertford! βοΈ
Quick warning before you scroll: this Tuesday's issue is doing a lot. Tomorrowβs set to hit 32Β°C, which is Hertford's official cue to abandon all plans and find shade. Then Sunday rolls around and somehow throws Rock at the Castle, open-air Shakespeare in Knebworth's gardens, and a hand-building pottery workshop all into the same 24 hours - pick wisely, or just try to do all three. And in between all that, a piece of Hertfordshire history that's nearly a thousand years old is quietly packing its bags for the British Museum.
Deals sorted, kids sorted, weather sorted (mostly). Let's get into it.
π Hereβs what weβve got for you this week:

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
ποΈ A Hertfordshire treasure is going to the British Museum. Tucked away in our own county archives is a 966-year-old piece of parchment - the Hertfordshire Charter, signed in 1060 by King Edward the Confessor, Queen Edith, and Earl Harold Godwinson (yes, that Harold - dead six years later with an arrow through the eye at Hastings). This September, it's being loaned to the British Museum to sit alongside the Bayeux Tapestry itself, back on English soil for the first time in almost 1,000 years. Before it makes the journey, Hertfordshire Archives is hosting a special evening display of charters from the collection on Thursday 30 July - a rare chance to stand in front of nine centuries of history without leaving SG14.
