Nature Creativity Competition 🌿
The Mayor of Hertford is inviting children and adults to get creative with a nature-inspired illustrated poem, short story or picture. Entries will be judged across age categories, with winners announced at the Hertford Art & Literature Festival on 11th April at Hertford Castle.

New Recycling E-Pass System Approved ♻️

Hertfordshire County Council has given the green light to a new digital e-pass system for recycling centres, designed to prioritise access for Hertfordshire residents and reduce misuse. The free pass will be quick to register, valid for three years and won’t require an app.

Councillors also approved an improved paid option for disposing of DIY waste above the current free limits. The changes will roll out gradually from spring 2026, with more details on how to register shared ahead of launch.
