A strong reminder of just how much goes on behind the scenes to keep Hertford thriving - and the people who make it happen.

🚆 Update on Hertfordshire’s Rapid Transit Plans
Hertfordshire’s long-awaited Herts & Essex Rapid Transit (HERT) system has hit another delay, with key details on the route and transport type now expected in Summer 2026.

Originally announced in 2019, the £2.5bn project aims to link Hemel Hempstead to Harlow with fast, high-capacity public transport - helping ease pressure on roads and unlock major growth across the county.

Plans were initially due in 2024, then pushed to 2025, and have now slipped again. The council says work is ongoing, with updated transport modelling currently being used to finalise routes, hubs and the proposed system (likely trackless trams).

Despite the delays, HERT remains a key priority - expected to support over 100,000 new homes and jobs, while improving east-west connections and links to major hubs like Stansted Airport.

🏡 PROPERTY OF THE WEEK

This one’s a bit special… a beautifully extended detached family home tucked away on one of Bengeo’s most sought-after roads.

Inside, it’s all about space and flow - from the bright bay-fronted living room to the stunning open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that’s made for family life (and entertaining). You’ve also got a handy utility room and a proper home office on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are four generous bedrooms, two en-suites and a family bathroom - so plenty of room for everyone.

Outside, it doesn’t disappoint either. There’s a smart resin driveway and garage to the front, and a beautifully landscaped garden at the back, complete with a large summerhouse that doubles up as the perfect home office or chill-out space.

A seriously lovely home in a top Bengeo spot.

🌦 HERTFORD WEATHER: 31 March - 6 Apr 2026

A bit of a grey start to the week, with plenty of cloud hanging around and temps sitting in the low-to-mid teens.

The good news? Things brighten up just in time for the weekend. Saturday looks like your best bet with some afternoon sunshine (despite a breezy edge), and Sunday isn’t far behind with a decent PM glow.

👉 Best days: Sat & Sun
👉 Wrap-up: Cloudy, mild, but a couple of solid spring moments if you time it right.

✨ MIND, HEALTH + FITNESS

Farm Fitness is Coming to Tewinbury 👀

Something a little different is landing at Tewinbury Farm - and it’s not your typical gym.

Farm Fitness (known for its no-frills, outdoorsy training style) is opening its very first location here, bringing workouts back to basics - think real strength, real movement, all inspired by life on the land.

Set in 700 acres of countryside, this new space will be part of Tewinbury’s Farm Club - blending fitness, recovery and that fresh-air farm lifestyle. Expect outdoor classes, open gym sessions and post-workout perks like saunas, ice baths… and let’s be honest, a well-earned breakfast or coffee at The Granary Kitchen.

To celebrate the launch, they’re opening up “The Founding 100” - with early access, discounted memberships and first dibs on everything.

Spots are limited, so if you’re curious… this one might be worth jumping on early!

🧁 EXTRA SPRINKLES

Speedy Gnocchi Chicken Lasagne, because if it doesn’t scream comfort, then I’m done. 🤌
