🚸 All Saint’s Churchyard Access Improved

All Saints Churchyard has had a major accessibility upgrade. Hertford Town Council has widened gates, removed steps, & added a gentle ramp, making it easier for wheelchair users, parents with buggies, cyclists, & schoolchildren to pass through. The improvements were officially opened on 10 September by Mayor Cllr Steven Watson, supporting the town’s goal of safe, inclusive routes for everyone.

🎨 Calling Local Artists!

The River Lea footpath between Ware → Hertford is being turned into an open-air gallery and the council is seeking talented local artists to create unique artworks that celebrate the spirit, nature, and heritage of our riverside. Whether your style is bold and abstract or detailed and narrative, they want to see your interpretation.
Paint a riverside bench, have your name on a plaque, be featured in a new art trail guide, get paid + all materials provided. Any style welcome - celebrate nature, heritage & community in your own way. 🌿

〰️ Keep Your Lymph Flowing: The Power of Daily Movement

Your lymphatic system plays a vital role in keeping you healthy - it helps remove waste, toxins, and excess fluids from your body while supporting your immune system. Unlike your heart, which pumps blood, the lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump. It relies on body movement, muscle contractions, and deep breathing to keep things flowing.

That’s why regular movement is so important.

When and how long?

  • 5-15 minutes a day of simple lymph-boosting movements

  • The best times are first thing in the morning (to wake up your body and circulation) and in the afternoon slump (to refresh energy)

  • If you sit for long periods, try short 2-3 minute breaks every hour to stretch, bounce, or walk.

🧍🏽‍♀️Easy lymphatic-friendly moves:

  • Gentle rebounding and jumping on the spot

  • Yoga poses like twists, downward dog, and inversions

  • Deep belly breathing with arm stretches and dry brushing before a shower

Benefits of daily lymphatic movement:

  • Boosts immunity by helping flush out toxins and pathogens

  • Reduces bloating and water retention

  • Improves energy levels and reduces

    fatigue

  • Supports clearer skin and overall detoxification

  • Promotes a sense of calm through mindful breathing and stretching

Even a few minutes a day can make a noticeable difference. Think of it as a natural “reset button” for your body - keeping your circulation, energy, and immunity strong.
