Expect warmer spells on Tuesday and Wednesday (best days), a breezy patch midweek, and a few light showers popping up here and there. By Monday, clouds and rain return, so it’s a great excuse to plan something cosy indoors (or iron the school uniform 🤦🏻‍♀️)

👨🏽‍🏫 How To Keep Up With The News (Without Losing Your Sanity)

We’ve all been there: caught in a news spiral. We wake up, quickly scroll through the headlines, and within seconds, mutter “Oh great, what fresh chaos have we got today?”. In fact, surveys here in the UK show that a huge chunk of us are currently stressed by politics and current affairs. But it doesn’t have to hijack your whole day.

Here are 5 quick tips to stay informed and protect your peace:

  1. Time-box it: 10–15 mins a day max.

  2. Choose your sources: stick to trusted outlets or roundups. If it’s sensationalist, it’s designed that way to get your attention.

  3. Don’t replay trauma: watching the same grim clip on repeat won’t help.

  4. Balance your feed: mix in positive news or good-news sources (like the Hertford Scoop! 😊).

  5. Draw news boundaries: you don’t need to follow every story.

At the end of the day, staying informed matters. But so does protecting your peace of mind. You don’t need to carry the weight of every headline to care.

Extra Sprinkles

This one ticks a LOT of boxes for me… a feast for the eyes, the sweet caramelised bananas, crispy sourdough 🤤… I’m done.

Air-Fryer Bananas on Sourdough (take a peek, it’s worth it!)

Without digging around Instagram, Facebook and scrolling websites.

Just the good stuff - local events, news, weather, inspo, and a sprinkle of fun.
